The poet Andrew McMillan recently won the 2015 Guardian first book award for his extraordinary and brilliant collection of poems Physical, the first time that a poet has won this prestigious prize. The judges noted how his elegant and delightful poems, eloquent on the subject of Gay masculinity, also explore wider themes and preoccupations, and appeal to a wider readership across age and gender.
As well as readings of the Physical poems, the event will also feature conversation with the poet about his work, and great live music performed by the Fourth Choir, one of the UK’s leading LGBT choirs. Join us for a magical evening of live poetry and music.
‘Physical surprised us all with the best sort of ambush, emerging from an extremely strong and vibrant shortlist as the unanimously agreed winner’ Claire Armistead, Guardian Book Editor
The event will be held at 7.30pm on Thursday 10th March at Kings Place, 90 York Way N1 9AG
Tickets cost £9.50 and can be booked on the Kings Place website
